The stories "wot I wrote".

The newest stories are at the top of the page.

Helen

It's the 1-year anniversary of the Lounge and I've been working on this for some time now. I couldn't work out how to bring it to an end. Then Friday announced an anniversary story fest and the answer was clear! So thank you Friday and here it is!

Bittersweet

I dreamt of her - the girl from First Love and Brief Encounter. I still don't know if there was a reason for it, I'm too scared to find out. And yes the dream was that real. So real, I even told my wife about it. I did make one change from reality and this is another reason why I haven't tried to contact her or her family; In my dream she said 'hello' and not 'goodbye'.

Mark and Debbie, Naked in School

There is a Story Fest running in the Lounge at the moment (June 11th, 2004) and my entry is complete. The topic is 'A Fresh Start'. I'd plotted the entire story and written the first three or four days, before I realised that 'Naked in School' had been a losing topic in the poll to choose the topic - honest. Anyway here it is.

The Fairytale.

Friday wrote a story for me for my birthday, she wrote two of them actually. The longer one, Modern Day Fairy Tale won the March Silver Clitorides! How cool is that? And how pleased am I? A little later I wondered what it would feel like from another point of view and thus this offering was born.

Alice

A big thank you to my editrice Alienor for putting up with my leaden prose. An apology to Friday for stealing back a plot I suggested to her. And an acknowledgement that I stole part of the plot from a strand of the film Love Actually by Richard Curtis.

Okay, I admit it. I'm dead chuffed that this is the first of three stories that I've managed to get nominated for the February Silver Clitorides I don't expect to win, or even make it to the final but thanks to everyone that nominated me.

Serena

When one's muse suggests that I should have an entry for Serena in this section of the website, it behooves and author to do as he is told! So here it is.

She's Gone

Traditionally when an author writes a string of stories on the same theme or, as in this case, all based on songs; the author would blame it on his Muse. Well I could still do that but I'm likely to come unstuck for a couple of reasons. Firstly I would be lying to you and secondly Friday would have her revenge! On the other hand Friday's revenge is usually a lot of fun ...

Come in from the Rain

Frank Downey has alerted me to Gary Jordan's story rating system. This is a D-Rated story: It contains adult themes of such sticky sweetness that Insulin may be required to prevent Diabetic Coma. Please comply with age and content restrictions for your locality.

Okay, I admit it. I'm dead chuffed that this is another of three stories that I've managed to get nominated for the February Silver Clitorides I don't expect to win, or even make it to the final but thanks to everyone that nominated me.

I Love the Way You Love Me

It's a certain person's birthday soon (5th February) and I'd been listening to boyzone singing this song. Ever since the Song Fest I've been considering every song I heard as inspiration for a story. It's almost cheating to use this one. Anyhow it's dedicated to the birthday girl.

Witch

Flushed with the success of the Hallowe'en Story festival. Frank proposed a Christmas Story Festival. Here is my entry. It's OK it isn't what you think. Though there is magic in it.

Still ... You Turn Me On

A rash of song inspired stories, has persuaded Girl Friday WMM(CE) to run a Festival of Song Inspired stories. This is my entry. The song is from the album Brain Salad Surgery from Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Unlike my previous story (see below) we had to make the song explicit. I set myself the task of using the lyrics in the story itself - it seemed like a good idea at the time, now it seems merely masochistic! Let me know what you think.

Sandra

It's a song, no that's not what I mean - it's inspired by a song. It's pretty obvious which song it is. (Well it's obvious to me, but then I wrote it - the story not the song.) Read the story and drop me a line if you think you know what the song is. I'll tell you if you're right - not much of an incentive to read the story I know, but then it just goes to show how desperate I am!

Hallowe'en Tale

Over in downeywrites someone suggested a Hallowe'en story fest. This is my humble offering.

Brief Encounter

Sometimes I have regrets. I travel a lot on trains. I like old films. Occasionally it all comes together.

First Love

A discussion on ASSD about love at first sight and soulmates led me to write this. This the fourth draft I'm still not sure about it. You won't find this anywhere else but here. Let me know what you feel.

The New Regime

This is the first thing that I wrote. It's set in Leviticus's Rent series. The premise of the Rent stories is that Nina is paying rent for living with Brian (an amateur) sculptor by remaining nude at all times when in and around his home. After various adventures Nina has ended up having to remain nude while at work also. This chapter is set near the end of the series.
