June Story Festival

Subject: Story Fest - A Fresh Start

Well, the poll is about to end and I can safely say that the theme for the story fest will be 'A Fresh Start'. As previously stated:

This theme could be divorce, death of a spouse/partner, moving to a new city, starting over after a terrible car accident - heck I don't know, take it and twist it around however you want

I'm not going to put a lot of rules on this one. Just try to stick to the theme and go where the spirit moves you.

No word length, no required erotic content.

Deadline for stories: Tuesday June 15, 2004, Midnight Eastern US time zone (GMT -5)

Stories may be published here in the lounge and to archive sites of the author's choosing (ASSTR, SOL, EWP, etc.)

When you post them here make sure to use [Story Fest] in the subject line to designate a fest story.

In addition, a festival webpage will be published on Girl Friday's ASSTR website ( http://www.asstr-mirror.org/files/Authors/Girl_Friday/www/ ). Any story submitted to the festival will either be archived or linked to from that festival page. By entering the fest, you grant permission for your story to appear on the festival site with all copyright notices attached. Stories remain the property of the authors and their names will remain attached to their work.

If you have an ASSTR website or ftp directory, or publish your story on EWP, I'll simply link to the story as it is published on your own personal site. If you publish on SOL exclusively, or only post your story to this Yahoo group, I will archive the story on my site along with the notice 'reposted with permission'. I will provide a link to individual author directories on SOL but there is no way for me to link to the stories directly (that I know of).

-- Sorry guys, I know this seems like a lot of mumbo-jumbo, but I'm tired of running around trying to get permission to repost stories for the fest webpages. So from now on, if you participate, you give permission. You don't like it, don't participate.

You have three weeks before the deadlines folks. We haven't had a festival for awhile, so I'm hoping to see some wonderful stories out of you.

So that's the deal, except for a couple of changes: firstly the deadline is 20th June 2004 and I've volunteered to host the Story Fest webpage. I must be mad.
