This is Part 12! You might want to read the earlier parts first!
Emergence with a Vengeance
Weeks -- so short yet so long. It took us five weeks to clean up, repair, restock, refurnish, and that was just to start! Five weeks to plan, prepare and train. Oh, confirmation only took a few days. Fanise had been responsible, working with other Dark Ones. They knew I had powerful friends, so they’d put together multiple plans, selecting one only at the very last moment, so as not to give me or others time to respond.
Might have worked, except the Gatekeeper doesn’t exist in a linear sequence of time...
Johnny visited. An indication of how things had changed -- when he entered my chamber, he went down on one knee! I had to pull him to his feet and hug him, beg him to sit with me.
Carol was recovering, and the clinic’s demands on her were helping, forcing, that recovery. Her first Open Clinic, Egon, another dwarf friend assisted, as had Joe and Johnny. Everyone made it through. Carol and Henry were getting closer, which I found interesting. A complication, though, was that Henry was allergic to Yeti. Have to see how that worked out.
He told me Sophira sent in some heavyweights to guard the Clinic, Carol, and pretty much everyone associated with it. They’d had a couple of incidents early on, but... Others knew better than to mess with Sophira, particularly when she was pissed off...
I gave him the two-bit tour of my new domain. I told him that some times I could almost hear the little ones running around laughing.
Johnny looked around with wonder. “Always knew ya wuz special, Doc -- but this?”
We parted with more hugs. Protect Carol and Joe, please.
I learned my domain inside and out. Dwarves have an innate sense of direction and location; very handy underground. I developed a mental map, and the feeling of where I was. I got to the point where I could run from place to place with my eyes closed.
I insisted on mixing new and old. Through Johnny and the dwarves I got my Glocks, the shotgun, and the silver ammo. Sitting one night sipping a very good (and very fairy-dust laden) dessert wine, Albert asked what use I thought such items could be. I mused that my introduction to magical combat had shown it to be either nonmaterial attacks and defenses at a distance, or close quarters. Think of a silver slug as an enchanted silver dagger -- traveling at thousands of feet per second. Albert agreed such might be useful, once. I was willing to settle for that, if it was the right “once.”
The dwarves provided me with armor and an underlayer of chain mail made of enchanted silver. The dwarves were very proud of both, remade as they were from ancient dwarf materials. The friend on my wrist approved and did something to strengthen the enchantments on both.
I did a lot of close-quarters drills with the dwarves; all of us practiced close-quarters work, so when (not if) the shit hit the fan we wouldn’t be tripping over each other or lopping off each others’ ears. I shouldn’t have been surprised that Vera was a strong, fast, and nasty fighter.
I had some blank shotgun shells; in one of our drills I took four rapid shots with my shotgun in a moderately sized chamber. The sound was deafening, and the rapidity of a Benelli M4 Tac semi-auto impressive. A number of dwarves were impressed; even Albert admitted it just might be useful.
The friend at my wrist drilled me at night, too, at least when I wasn’t drilling Vera. There’s always that difference of opinion -- what one side considers a hardened defensive structure an attacker considers a target-rich environment...
A senior dwarf retrieved the Book I’d been studying from the old barn, and a small bag containing an enchanted (and enchanting) silver bracelet. I continued my studies. That, together with the training and testing I received on the dream plain helped me synthesize some interesting approaches, ones I hoped I’d never have to put to use, but...
Outside our little domain, the Yeti felt something was going on; both Fanise and Moira were uncertain. Fanise kept looking over her shoulder (as she damn well should), and Moira kept hoping. Sophira was itching to pay off debts, and that had a lot of folks looking over their shoulders. Really nasty things happened to those who crossed Sophira! Another thing to ponder, patience (and vengeance) take on new dimensions when you’re dealing with beings who are essentially immortal.
Planning
The problem wasn’t what to do, it was how to do it -- how to do it without showing just what I could and could not do. Or, just what the Gatekeeper could do, which was practically anything. I was starting to learn -- I’d learned in the ‘stan that you don’t just go rushing into things. And from my associates and advisors, I was getting a much better appreciation for the truly Long Term...
Yeah I’d been exposed to a lot of it in OCS; now it was starting to make sense, and some times I even wished I’d paid more attention back then. You start by defining Policy. From Policy you develop Strategy to give life to the Policy. Strategy helps you define Tactics and tactical goals. When you get down to tactics, now you’re talking about who gets punched in the nose, when, where, and by whom.
Policy: Develop the Northern Kingdom into a vibrant sustainable community where my children and their grandchildren will be born and grow.
Strategy: Bring my wives to me. Tactically, bring Elna to me without letting others know the extent of my support and abilities (the Gatekeeper).
This was quite easy, at least for him -- he could bring her here any time (quite literally). But I didn’t want to clearly advertise those abilities, and I also wanted to let Fanise know that I was upset with her. As I said, that fraction of a second between the time she recognizes my face and a silver slug splatters her brains is sufficient. Yeah, it’s ego, and it’s taking things personally, but it’s important to me. Not as important as having Elna safe though, so if Fanise shuffles off this mortal coil without realizing I’m behind her demise, that’s okay. But there was value in snuffing out Fanise in a manner which left others at least suspicious that I’d been responsible.
The tactical kicker with Elna, and to a lesser but still significant extent with my other wives were their pregnancies. One person is a lot easier to snatch than two; lots of things get messy post-partum, militating strongly for action sooner rather than later.
Strategy: Let Moira and clan know I am alive, after we recover Elna. Bring Val, Kal, and Bin here. Recruit support (and staff) from them, with the proviso that my wives and children now live here. Tactically, that was easy. Once Elna is safe, I could call Moira on the phone and invite her and the girls over for dinner; I’m sure they’d find the time. One of Albert’s crew had set up a laptop Johnny picked up, and a cell phone. I don’t know how they did it, and I’m not sure I want to know, but they work.
Back to the Yeti... Both Fanise and Moira thought their respective domains were secure. Two wildly different models of secure!
Fanise and the Andean Yeti domain were crawling with security, guards, restrictions, nastiness bristling all over to keep out intruders and spy on their own. A kind of “Iron Curtain” model, very hard on everyone but the top echelons, and even they had to keep looking over their shoulders. And for all the effort, and all the internal strife it caused, was it effective? Not to a being who moved in other dimensions, including time!
Moira and their domain was more the Swiss model, looking open and inviting until... I’d politely “request” that my wives join me. Follow that up with invitations to others to fill up the place. Make their stay enjoyable, so they don’t learn that the Portals will not allow my wives or children to leave.
And me, us? For now, more along the Israeli line, welcoming friendly visitors, yet armed to the teeth. Back to that strategic benefit of having Fanise’s head on a pike outside my keep, even if only in a symbolic form.
But we come back to the specific tactics of snatching Elna, and the resulting question which rises to a Policy level: what to do with Fanise? In spite of my preferences, it’s good to argue the matter out. There are very good arguments for not leaving someone like that alive to take another whack at you. She’d taken at least one good whack at me, and encouraged if not coordinated a few others. And she didn’t mind if others died in the process. That especially bugged me, the “collateral damage” shit.
I kept inviting arguments from my council to leave her breathing, and each time I did, one or more of them would tell me that was a very bad idea. One I put forward was to stave off upheaval in Andean Yeti society; with Fanise and Elna both out of the picture, who was going to take over? I was not so politely reminded that wasn’t my problem.
I eventually admitted that yeah, I really wanted to grease the bitch, and do it personally.
Back to planning, right?
We planned it, trained it, gamed it. Tactically, I’ve always felt the attacker has the advantage. Again, you call it a hardened defensive structure. I call it a target-rich environment. Even more so in this situation. We knew what we wanted; in this case our goal was Elna. That was so foreign to Fanise and her crew’s way of thinking as to not even be on their threat map! Oh, we had their opsec plans, so we knew damn well how they should respond. Our goal was snatching Elna, and doing it in such a way as to make it difficult for them to figure out how it had been done. We’d begin with an attention-grabbing assault, with a real tactical goal besides being diversionary. They’d execute to their plan and lock everything down, the Gatekeeper would snatch Elna, we’d fuck with their furry heads more, including my thanking Fanise personally, and then vanish, leaving them wondering what the hell that had been all about. Until Elna doesn’t show up and someone discovers Fanise splattered about...
Just as you’re getting your pieces lined up, predicting when the other pieces will be in their optimal places, the Real World swerves by and knocks over the game board, right?
The succubus - incubus community is well traveled; not many sentients object to the occasional night visitor, particularly if they’re just stopping by for some fun, and not for your soul or some such.
In this case, we learned through an incubus friend of a friend of Vera that Brenda, the Andean Yeti enchantress who’d been visiting me, was pregnant. Since I was supposedly dead, that meant Brenda was going to lose her (male Yeti) child.
How was Brenda responding? Crying nonstop, extreme depression, which in Yeti can be fatal.
Well shit... Is this a trap? Vera felt that this incubus was trustworthy, and had gotten close enough to Brenda to verify that she was pregnant; something particularly tasty about a pregnant Yeti, at least if you’re an incubus. And this particular incubus didn’t know who I was, that Vera was associated with me, or that I was supposed to be but was not actually dead. So much for my ego!
Okay, the plan changes -- we snatch Elna and Brenda. And there’s no time like the present!
Game Time!
Diversion -- a loud “BOOM!” from a dwarf-transport off in a corner of Fanise’s keep. This is something that should not, could not happen, but did. Surprise! A dwarf mining enchantment sprang into being in that place and started chewing slowly but steadily up through rock at an angle, aiming for a corner of one of Fanise’s treasure hoards, with strong protective enchantments around the mining action. All this had the signature of a renegade South American Andes group that didn’t like Fanise any more than we did. Fanise and crew were surprised at this line of attack (exactly why we were using it), chewing up through rock to get the prize, and damn, it was working! Well, we certainly expected it to. They were madly trying to figure out which treasure we were after -- this one? This one? No, must be that one? We’ll take as many as we can get, thank you for pointing out the good ones!
Fanise and crew responded perfectly according to their plan. One of the first things you do is kill all the lights to make it hard(er) for visitors to find their way. Security rushed Fanise to her safety hole. Being the trusting mother, Elna was locked up and guarded separately, but since Brenda happened to be with Elna, the two of them were locked up together! As their chamber was sealed, the Gatekeeper pulled them to my domain. He was also letting me see into Fanise’s chamber; I was about to go in, with his help, and pull the trigger on Fanise when all of a sudden her chamber, and the one which had been holding Elna and Brenda started filling with flying chunks of molten lava! I tagged Tana, who was riding along, to investigate -- dear Fanise had more problems than she’d realized!
It turned out that one of Fanise’s cousins disagreed with the succession plans! The good news was that nobody was going to miss Fanise, Elna, or Brenda, and now we knew who to watch...
That cousin, head of Fanise’s guard and an adept sorceress herself, used the same trick once more, wiping out our mining enchantment with more lava. She shouldn’t have been able to do that, but obviously she did, so we had things to learn as well. Oh, we’d already pulled out a prize, the Enchanted Egg of Somebody-or-other, but it was going to take them weeks to undo the security around that vault and get in to check it. Not only did they have their own security to get through, we’d also placed a number of protective enchantments on it to slow them down.
“Don’t you just hate it when something like that happens?” I mused to nobody in particular, putting my Glock loaded with .40 cal silver slugs back in the holster.
I looked to one of the dwarves, one of the security detail. Elna and Brenda were in the little Portal chamber off the Great Hall. “Wait for the gong, and bring them in,” I told him. He bowed, sheathed his sword, and headed off.
I put the gun away, and let Tana, Vera, and the protocol dwarves start dressing me for my first audience, taking off the fighting armor and changing to more appropriate dress.
But once more, planning and reality collide!
Elna and Brenda had just been snatched from an unknown emergency and a chamber which was suddenly and quite unexpectedly filling with lava, to a chamber in an unknown location, and in a manner completely unknown to them. Yes, the chamber had comfy furniture, and even fresh flowers, but it was carved out of rock and had a closed, enchanted door with armed dwarves on the other side!
Brenda is a skilled sorceress, as is Elna. Both are pregnant, which means that if either exerts a lot of magical energy, she’ll lose her child. But Brenda figures she’s lost hers already, since the father (me) is supposedly dead. So Brenda starts winding up to go out in style, protecting her mistress and paying off old debts!
“Oh fuck!” I summarized, pulling off one very nicely made calfskin boot and heading out of the chamber barefoot, wearing my noble underwear, silver chain mail, and the protector around my wrist.
“Out of my WAY!” I shouted, heading down corridors to the chamber holding the ladies.
As I approached the doorway, I motioned the dwarf guards away. “Elna, Brenda!” I shouted. “You are safe! You are safe!”
I felt the shock, the excitement in Elna, then Brenda, as our presences touched. “You are safe! I promise!” I called out again, standing in front of the door. I released the enchantments on this side, but didn’t touch it...
The door opened... Brenda was standing a few feet behind it, Elna behind her. They were being cautious -- good for them.
I took a step forward, showing them open, empty hands. The friend on my right wrist tingled. I think I’ll wait here... “Welcome, my loves, to the Northern Kingdom,” I told them, forcing a smile.
Brenda unpeeled her enchantments (most of them, anyway). The three of us hugged. Oh, it was so good to hold a Yeti again, and be held... Yes, I was very much alive! I explained that the attack on the Andean domain had been our (my) doing, to get them away. I told them what we knew -- as we got them out, one of Fanise’s cousins put her own plans in motion, killing Fanise, and trying to kill them.
Incoherent questions, amounting to, “What now?”
I held them. “This is your home now. This is where you will live. This is where our children will be born. This is where they shall live and grow.”
I felt the heat rise in Brenda as the realization sank in. She pulled me closer, starting to move...
I held her -- I wanted her so much, wanted to be engulfed in Yeti -- “Later, after dinner, I promise. We don’t have to hurry.”
Elna is the one who laughed... She pulled Brenda and me apart. “Tonight, and we can take our time,” she tried to convince Brenda, who was trembling, trying to control herself...
I invited in Tana and Vera, who were cautiously waiting in the hallway. The Gatekeeper was gone -- he doesn’t do crowds.
They were so happy I was alive! Fanise had crowed, chortled, and pranced for days after I’d supposedly died, so proud that she’d outsmarted not just me, I was only a mortal, but also those that supported me. And all the time, Elna and Brenda still had the feeling, especially when Brenda realized she was pregnant, a surprising but not entirely unexpected side-effect of all those nights training me...
We left the reception area, moving slowly through my domain, moving to the Great Hall. A pair of protocol dwarves intercepted us, all but tackling me, dressing me in a robe and calf-skin boots.
In the Great Hall, I took my place in the center chair. I introduced them as my wives and the mothers of two of my sons. I told them it was my wish that they live here, with me. To a raised eyebrow from Brenda, I added solemnly that they could not leave without my permission.
I introduced (again) Tana, and Vera, then Albert. Albert introduced the leads for his teams, and surprised me by asking, out in the open, when we would have Tibetan Yeti joining us!
I smiled and told him I would be speaking with them in two days; I imagine they would be sending a group to visit soon after. Polite laughter.
The protocol folks took over as soon as I let them, leading us back to my rooms. They had to get me properly dressed (or Albert would tan their hides), and measure the Yeti for proper robes.
Not that I thought they needed them -- gravid Yeti carry high, and as the father I may be somewhat biased, but I thought Elna looked beautiful; Brenda was still a ways from showing.
We toured more, one of the dwarves giving us more of the history of the place, last inhabited over sixteen hundred years ago.
I left the dwarves to continue the tour with Elna and Brenda while I met with the team to debrief the extraction. All in all, quite nominal -- except how did she break through our protection to dump lava on our mining enchantment? We were looking at that; they had some ideas. Other than that, things went well. I got to see the Enchanted Egg. Pretty -- where are we going to keep it? We had a place; away from our living quarters. Good idea; I don’t want to draw a crowd.
We sat at the small table for dinner; Vera sat with us but didn’t eat much. Elna and Brenda were so excited, looking so happy (and horny). I looked to the ceremonial dias -- damn, could I get another two chairs? How do I pull this one off? I know I sit in the middle, and Val as my first to my right. Elna to my left? Do I rotate among them, or keep those three? Damn! Command is bad enough, but when you layer protocol on top of that!
“Is something troubling you, My Lord?” Vera asked.
I looked to her and smiled. Then I laughed; here I am, getting upset, when I’m sitting between two beautiful Yeti, both of whom want to screw me senseless, and a wonderful Succubus who has been doing just that for weeks. I picked up my water glass and raised it in a toast. “I’ve decided -- the problems will still be here in the morning!” Laughter and agreement.
I think the kitchen crew were happier with more people to feed. If that’s the case, I’m going to be making them damn delirious...
I was pondering such things when Tana pinned my ears back.
“My Lord, we should discuss sleeping arrangements,” she offered with a smile.”
Say what? I thought I had a pretty good idea about that, one which Elna and Brenda probably shared. “Very well,” I said, trying to be a good poker player. “Why don’t the two of us take a walk.” I thanked the staff once more and stood up.
Surprise, Vera joined Tana and me. The protocol dwarves led the Yeti off.
“What’s this all about?” I asked when we were out of earshot. “You understand, Brenda...”
“At least one of us must remain in your bedchamber tonight,” Tana interrupted.
I sighed and stopped. “Damn, you’re right. Okay, I get it. But for how long? What happens when the Tibetan crowd gets here? When...”
“Until we are sure,” Vera added.
The more I thought about it... I looked at both of them. “Okay, I know when I’m in trouble... Albert heads up the House; I need a head of boudoir; someone to make sure I don’t make too many serious mistakes there. And figuring out sleeping arrangements... That could get nasty!”
They smiled and nodded knowingly, then looked at each other.
Tana said, “I have the training and skills for that role, Lord. And I will not be sleeping with you.” A brief smirk tossed to Vera.
I nodded. “How do we propose this arrangement, without inciting violence?”
A raised eyebrow. “You merely say that it is so, Lord,” Tana suggested formally.
“I’m trying not to laugh,” I told them.
We wandered around, arriving at the chamber I’d been using as my private study. We sat down and hashed out a number of issues. Yes, Val and Kal held special positions. And from a political standpoint, it made sense to have Val on my right and Elna on my left for formal occasions. Adding others, standing, Albert, Tana, and Vera were next.
Vera came right out and told me, not asking me, but told me that I had different levels and kinds of intimacy with the different Yeti and with her, intimacy which would continue to develop. I needed to let it develop, individually. She would be available to help.
More information I wasn’t sure I needed -- a female Yeti’s sexual appetite increased during pregnancy, up to the last two to three weeks, when suddenly she’d want to be held, but not want intercourse. She’d be that way for ten to twelve weeks post-partum, and then, wham!
Let’s hope the Gatekeeper can keep me in Fairy Dust!
Oh, that had already been addressed. My penchant for adulterated Gatorade was known, and accepted as a good compromise. It was also agreed by staff that it was a potential attack vector. Albert had assigned those duties to a trusted member of his staff.
I mused out loud about it for a moment -- Yeti, Dwarves, Succubae, Vampires, in an underground Empire nominally led by a Human? A male human? Is this kind of cooperation common?
Of course not! We were in for a very interesting time when word got out, in a few days, that I was alive, and sitting where I was sitting!
“Where did Vera go?” I asked, noticing she wasn’t in the room anymore.
Tana smiled. “She went to explain things.”
I sighed and nodded. I looked up at the rock ceiling. “And I’d hoped my reign here would be a long and peaceful one,” I sighed to the hewn and smoothed rock.
Tana laughed heartily. “It will be -- all of us will see to it,” she told me.
I know Tana followed me to my bedroom, but after seeing Brenda and Elna waiting for me, I forgot she was there. So good -- Brenda was so happy, so joyful, so passionate! She wore me out, more than once, with Elna’s help. I went to sleep snuggled between two Yeti. Most of the night I was snuggled up to Elna, with Brenda behind me.
Waking in the morning, Brenda held me on my back as Elna teased me with her breasts. Tantalizing soft strokes mixed with pressing into me with Brenda pinning my shoulders to the bed and muffling my cries with a breast. Usually they would tease and torment me to the point of delirium, then impale themselves on me and ride us both to heaven. But this time as I’m at the point of delirium, I felt something different -- Elna’s mouth on me! Added to my cock sliding between luscious fur-covered breasts were her warm, pillow soft lips, her tongue -- so good! I didn’t last much longer, barely able to hold on to Brenda as Elna squeezed and sucked me dry.
Light in the room getting brighter, even with my head very comfortably located between two full and furry Yeti breasts. I could dim the light down, but I knew it was a not so subtle hint for me to get up and get with it. Oh well. With a few minutes more of snuggling, we got up. As we left the bedroom, me heading to my bathroom to shower, I caught a glimpse of Tana, shadowy and wraith-like, practically transparent against one of the walls. I nodded to her, and felt her amusement as she nodded back.
Vera joined me in the shower! My eyes were closed to protect them from soap; I held her and kissed her, sliding our bodies together to work up a lather.
“You’ll have me covered with fur in a month,” she growled as I tried to move lower on her body.
We helped each other wash, rinse, and eventually dry off. Proper clothing was set out for me, and a pair of dwarves were present to make sure I wore it.
We had breakfast at the small table in the Hall. I was amazed and pleased at how happy Elna and Brenda looked! We were joined by Tana, Vera, and Albert. I mentioned somewhat obliquely that I thought I should make a phone call after breakfast. Albert and Tana thought that wise. I mentioned we’d probably be sending someone on errands, and I’d been thinking of Durk, one of Albert’s crew. He seemed to specialize in protocol and such. Albert nodded and thought him a good choice.
I have to learn not to stand up until others are finished... As I waited, I suggested to Albert that he have one of his staff show Elna and Brenda what we’d done so far for family. He called over a dwarf standing politely off to the side, whispered some instructions, and the dwarf departed with a bow.
When everyone had finished (Brenda particularly had a good appetite), I stood up. Staff appeared to whisk things off the table. I hugged the Yeti, who headed off with some dwarves. The rest of us headed to my “office.”
It was a small room close to the private chambers area. It was becoming my office, or at least one of them. Durk was waiting for us, and a cell phone was on the wooden table. Interesting -- a difference of many centuries there.
As I sat down, I said, “I’m not sure I want to know just how this thing works in here.”
Durk smirked. “A wise leader...”
I sat down and gave him the eye, smiling. His smirk disappeared.
“Durk, my friend,” I opened, “I have an exciting opportunity to offer you. I find myself in need of an Ambassador. I wish to offer you the position, but I feel I should warn you that it comes with upsides and downsides. On the up side, the position is what you make of it -- one way or the other, you will become well known. On the down side, you will be working for a fool who needs more guidance than he can offer. What say you, Durk? Or would you like time to consider and make a run for it?”
Chuckling from the others in the room.
Durk bowed and announced, “I am honored, My Lord, and humbly offer my services. I accept.”
I stood and put my right hand on his shoulder. “Durk, I appoint you my Ambassador for the Northern Kingdom. Represent us well.”
I sat down. Others sat as well. I indicated a chair for Durk. “Something I’d always wondered about, and now I get to find out, I guess. As to matters of policy, would you rather be kept in the dark, or be fully informed? Keeping you in the dark on some matters gives you plausible deniability -- you can honestly say that you don’t know. On the other hand, being fully informed allows you to make better use of your skills.” I glanced around the room to see some raised eyebrows, some nodding.
Durk nodded. “I prefer to be informed, Lord. As you say, we can best use our skills and act in furtherance of common goals when we know what those goals are.”
“Good. My overall policy is to fill the Northern Kingdom with life and light. A strategic goal with the Yeti is to get my wives here. This is where our children will be born and raised. We will also need to build a community, drawing from them, and perhaps the Andean Yeti. My view is that the community needs to expand to meet the needs of the children. Initially, that means their care as infants, but as they grow, it means developing as close to a ‘normal’ community as possible. Discussion?”
We talked about it for a while. They agreed with my proposal, to call Moira and “invite” my wives here. Send Durk to make the invitation and retrieve them, and set the stage for supporting crew.
“Let’s do it,” I said with a sigh.
The phone had even been turned on. More bars showing than I got at my old home, too... I punched “Contacts” and “Moira.” It rang.
To the muffled answer, I said in her tongue, “Good evening, Mother; I hope I did not disturb your sleep.”
Interesting noise over the phone. I nodded and told the group around the table, “I think she dropped the phone...”
Yes I was most certainly still alive! I would like to see her, and especially have my wives come visit. I would like to send a representative to discuss details. Oh, soon -- after we complete the call. Oh yes, I have room for visitors! I’ll send a delegate shortly to discuss the matter.
“I look forward to seeing you, Mother,” I closed, and put down the phone.
Looked around the room -- smiles and nods. “That’s the easy part. Questions? Suggestions? What did I do right, what did I fuck up?” I looked around the room again.
“Okay, beat me up in private then. Durk, you’ve got people to see and things to do -- get moving!”
He smiled and bowed. “Yes, Lord,” and departed the room.
“Feedback, folks -- give me feedback!” I requested more forcefully.
No, they thought I’d handled it well. Albert opined that you could analyze and analyze and analyze these things, and by the time you’d made a tentative decision, the damn kids would be grown. He thought I’d hit the major and minor points, and was pleased I was talking things out.
I felt I probably had a few hours before the crowd arrived. I wanted to greet them in the Great Hall, suitably attired, and with Elna at my left, gathering as many as possible into the hall for effect. Suggestions? Opinions? Okay, let’s do it!
I went back to my quarters, figuring on I’m not sure what, resting? I wasn’t expecting to be titnapped by Elna and Brenda -- I walked into the room, was pulled to one of Elna’s delicious nipples, and hauled off to the bed. As Elna held me down and fed me, Brenda teased me with her breasts and finished me off with her mouth. Then they sandwiched me between them and sang me to sleep.
Awakened to duty calling, meeting with my leads. Durk would be arriving in an hour with a dozen Yeti! Albert and Tana had discussed things with him; the Yeti were quite interested. In the dozen there were Val, Kal, and Bin, my wives; Moira and two other seniors, and six others to get things going.
I saw one issue coming down the road straight at me. I looked at Albert. “Albert, you are responsible for day to day operations, Head of Household. If I don’t make that clear in the first two minutes they are here, I beg you to whack me over the head and remind me. This is my kingdom, not theirs, and you run day to day ops for me, until you and I together decide that someone else should be doing it. I have a feeling they aren’t going to like it, but that’s tough -- you are it.”
He smiled and gave a slight nod. “Thank you, Lord.”
I nodded. “Gonna be some screaming about that one, I’m sure, but you’re the one for operations, security, kitchen, maintenance. If you want to cede areas like the nursery and such, that would make sense to me, but I’ll support you. Having males, and dwarves, running things is gonna be a shock to some of them, but they’ll get used to it. I hope.”
Albert gave me a lopsided smile. “As do I, Lord!”
Looking around at my advisors... “Ah, clarification -- Albert, you are in charge of operations. Tana is in charge of the boudoir.” I shook my head. “One of our challenges is going to be working together, communicating. Gonna be a challenge. I would imagine that one of the Yeti will end up running the nursery. But Tana still handles the boudoir, and Albert still handles things overall, including the kitchen and security. Does that make sense?”
I looked to Vera and had one of those wobbly moments, a vision intruding, fleeting but oh so intense, some parts so clear. “Vera, you are so important to the lives of us all,” I said with surprising intensity. “Albert, Vera is a vital part of our overall security.”
“Yes, Lord,” he replied.
“As you wish, Lord,” Tana and Vera added.
Welcome Home
Dressed up pretty, we walked to our places in the Great Hall. Every time I enter it, I see that crest shimmering in the air behind the raised dais and the chairs... I like it -- it’s got attitude. I liked the way it had appeared on all the uniforms in the place as well. I walked in with Elna on my arm.
Elna and I seated, waiting. Tana, Vera, and Albert were on the platform with us. Brenda sat at the side table. About forty other dwarves were in the hall, plus another ten or so kitchen and serving staff. The hall could easily sit two hundred for meals, and hold more than that for an assembly. The security crew were skulking about, or so I assumed and hoped. I had another idea for security...
I felt them arrive, crowding the small Portal. I could sense their excitement, their anticipation. One of the elders had her suspicions. One of the young ones was a historian and was about over the top... I told the Portal to let them through.
Durk led them into the Great Hall. I stood, motioning for the others to remain seated.
Val and Kal were showing, and so beautiful! And all of them, Val, Kal, and Bin were in tears.
So happy, yet confused -- the place they were in, me standing where I was, Elna beside me, that crest shimmering in the air behind us. I was so happy, happy to see people! Well, Yeti, but I was so happy to see them again!
Moira and the two elders wore their best poker faces. The young ones were filled with unbridled joy and curiosity, trying to look in every direction at once! Most went quiet -- except for Erin, the historian, who was still laughing with glee, looking around. She quieted after an elbow to the ribs.
Standing there, looking at them, memories from the future intruded, standing in this same spot in definitely not happy times. I raised my right hand, extending the katana which shone with magical fire. I felt it; everyone in the Great Hall felt it as rumbling thunder emanated from my crest shimmering in the air above us. That brought silence to those gathered.
“Welcome to the Northern Kingdom,” I greeted them formally, letting the katana once more become a bracelet on my wrist.
Such a complex look on Moira’s face; tears in the eyes of Val, Kal, and Bin.
“You have met our Ambassador, Durk. Durk, please escort Val, Kal, and Bin to me.”
He escorted the three Yeti to the edge of the dais.
I went first to Val. I helped her step up onto the dais, a small step physically, but one with huge symbolic significance. I held her and kissed her. “Welcome to your new home, my love,” I whispered to her. I led her to her seat at my right and helped her sit. She sat, smiling, tears running down.
Approaching Kal, she was on the verge of breaking down. I helped her take that step to the dais, then held her -- and she held me strongly! I was glad someone had insisted I wear my “ceremonial” armor under the robes! “It’s okay -- you are home, and we are safe and together,” I whispered to her. It was harder to get out of her arms! Bin -- tears but what a smile as I helped her up that step! And what a kiss! I had Durk lead Kal and Bin to the small table with Brenda. He returned to standing behind the chairs with Albert, Vera, and Tana.
I sat between Elna and Val, and made my short speech. I introduced Albert as the Master of the House. I noticed some bristling in the Yeti elders, so I reiterated his position and the fact that many things were going to be different here, but I expected we would all adapt. The chair I was sitting in still had not burst into flames. I introduced Vera and Tana as valued advisors.
My goals are simple. First is to fill these halls with life, light, and laughter. I held Val and Elna’s hands and looked to Kal, Brenda, and Bin at the other table as I said that this is where our children will be born and raised. Our task is fill these halls with life and light and to raise them well, to build family and community, all of us working together. There will be times when this is not easy. We will prevail, and we will do so by working together, leveraging our differences into strengths.
End of speech. Is dinner ready?
Laughter.
I stood and gathered my ladies, my wives, at the small table. I explained to them quietly what they already knew -- I was in over my head! They agreed! So, I continued, I have Albert as Master of the House. And, I have Tana as my Mistress of the Boudoir. I know we will have problems and disagreements -- but let’s work them out and build a family. A round of hugs and agreement. Round! Val and Kal were so round, and so beautiful, and I told them so!
Our protocol dwarves moved us to the main table, wanting us to be seated, but I wanted to meet the other Yeti.
Moira looked uncertain. Things weren’t going to go exactly as she’d hoped, that’s for sure... I stepped into her arms, holding her gently, resting my head in soft fur. “Mother,” I told her softly, “thank you for your beautiful daughters -- they are more beautiful than I have ever seen them. Please have patience with me, and help us grow as a family.”
She gave me a squeeze an a kiss on the forehead. When we stepped apart she was smiling a bit.
Erin, the young historian -- still looking around! I stepped closer and took one of her hands.
She turned and looked at me. Our eyes met and I had one of those flashes, seeing and feeling her on top of me, falling into sparkling green eyes, then seeing her holding and nursing our son... I saw the shock on her face -- I pulled her close and gently bit an earlobe as I inhaled her scent, letting go of her and stepping back. Her hands went to her face as she stepped back, bumping into one of the other young ones. Yeti can indeed blush...
One of the other elders -- one I’d met in the past -- I hugged her briefly. “We will need many more, particularly with baby girls, so my sons can grow up in the proper environment.”
She smiled and nodded. “Yes we will, Lord... We have much to discuss, but I am glad you are thinking of such details.”
“We welcome your suggestions,” I told her.
The dwarves finally got us all seated. I was at the head of the table, with Val on one side and Elna on the other.
I picked up my wineglass and waited for silence, or at least some degree of quiet, standing.
Damn, I could feel it... I could feel it and almost hear it -- laughter and screams, joy and sorrow, all of it. Today we look forward to the joys; tonight we start planning for the rest. I took a breath, raising my glass.
“We will soon have a day when the cry of, ‘No running!’ will be heard in this hall...”
Polite laughter...
“When that day arrives, I promise to take that person across my knee and spank them! The one who calls out, ‘No Running!’ I want running! I want laughter! I want these halls filled once more with life, with joy, with laughter, and with friendship!” I raised my glass and took a sip, then sat my ass down before I made more of a fool of myself.
Erin, who’d managed a seat next to Bin, said, “You’d do it -- you’d spank Great Aunt Greta!”
I looked her in the eye and said clearly, “I’d rather spank you...” I love to see Yeti blush!
Wonderful meal, so good to see everyone. Mostly chit-chat about the place, how long we’d been working on things, how many staff, how good it looked.
As things wound down, I turned to my intimates. “All right, someone needs to give me a clue as to when I should stand up -- I’m not used to all this formality.”
Val bailed me out a little later, leaning over and suggesting, “We should retire, My Lord.”
I stood, taking Val’s hand, turning and taking Elna’s as well. Everything stopped. “Please continue as you wish -- that is what I want from my family.” Some of the younger ones continued picking at a dessert; good!
“I can’t get over how beautiful you look!” I told Val and Kal, having a hard time keeping my hands off them. We were at my smaller table, a safer less formal spot. I felt very, very lucky, surrounded by pregnant Yeti -- Val, Kal, Elna, Bin, and Brenda. I hooked one of the service dwarves and had him fetch me some Gatorade. I thought I was going to need my strength...
I’d just received a very un-dwarfish sports bottle when the first “discussion” erupted among the elder Yeti with Great Aunt Greta sounding like she was winding up for a good one.
“If you will excuse me for a moment,” I suggested to my wives, stepping away from the table.
I saw Tana vectoring to meet me at the disturbance.
Space cleared as I approached, Greta continuing her windup, getting to the, “Never have I experienced such...”
I raised my right hand (the one with the bracelet clearly visible) and said at a conversational level but commanding tone, “Lower your voice, now.”
She looked startled and offended, responding with, “What?” in a shocked tone, but at a much lower volume.
“Do you have a concern you wish to address with me, before you leave?” I asked pointedly.
Unexpected backup -- my bracelet sparkled visibly.
“My Lord,” she started out, somewhat flustered. I could tell Moira was upset as well. The young ones seemed startled or confused.
“Mother, Moira, would you walk with us, please, and discuss this? Mistress Tana?” I indicated the passage to my public office.
Once there, I offered them seats, and took one myself. “Let me preface our conversation -- I do not expect such tones of voice to be used in my Hall. If any of you have a concern or a complaint, bring it to me, if not directly, then through Master Albert, Mistress Tana, Ambassador Durk, or through Moira. I know, as you do, that there are many who will attack us, overtly and covertly. It won’t be a year before blood is spilled in these Halls. I don’t need attacks from within my own family. Now, will someone explain to me what the problem is?”
Greta was flustered, somewhat apologetic, but I could tell she was still really bent about something, something about them, it was oh so clear to anyone with talent...
Them? Who exactly did she mean?
The Andeans, Elna and Brenda -- it was so obvious to an adept; was that the same fate the others were to be subject to?
I sat back, puzzled to say the least.
Tana smiled and told them, “He doesn’t know -- I was present, and not only did they initiate the action, they had to hold him down to do it!”
That rocked Moira and Greta back! And I still didn’t understand what was going on!
They all looked at me.
Tana broke into laughter. “He doesn’t know! And that is how devoted they are to him!”
I knew I was taking a chance... “I don’t know a whole lot -- will you please explain?”
Tana was still shaking her head. “You had it explained to you -- Elna tried! What would happen if you had tasted her?”
Dim light went on -- Elna had tried to get me to taste her -- I would have been bound to her -- but that meant, by symmetry, when they went down on me... I sighed and shook my head. “I did not know -- and if I had, I would not have allowed it to happen!”
I turned to Moira and took one of her hands. “Mother, please believe me -- I could not force myself on anyone in that way. I would not and could not do that to anyone, let alone to someone I love as much as your daughters.” I offered a hand to Greta, so she could feel the truth of what I spoke. “I could not command or even request such a thing.”
Great Aunt Greta took my hand in both of hers and smiled, nodding. “I apologize, My Lord -- we must remember that we are in a new and different World.”
I looked at both of them, and to Tana. I had a question to ask those two -- why? Why? Yet... “I can feel them; I can feel them all. Yes, there is a bond there. But I also feel bonds with the others -- particularly with Kal. Can you feel that, Mother?”
Moira nodded, a look of wonder filling her. I looked to Greta, who let go of my hand and placed hers in her lap with a sigh.
“We are all in for challenges,” I admitted. “Some things I am going to want my way, and are going to be done my way, and you might not like it. But that’s the way it’s going to be. In so many other areas, I need your help very much. I do not know how to raise a family! I don’t know how to be a father! I need your help in building family, and community, so our children grow up happy, healthy, and loved. That’s the most important to me -- to have children that are happy, healthy, and loved. I can’t do this on my own! I do know that we all need to work together -- Yeti, Dwarves, Shades, Succubae, all of us, if we are to survive, let alone prosper. Please help me.”
I looked to Tana. “Mistress, could you please gather my wives in our private chamber? We need to talk!”
Tana stood, bowing her head. “Of course, My Lord.” She left the room.
I looked to the two older Yeti. “Okay, she’s gone -- you can start pulling limbs off.”
Moira shook her head. Greta sighed, shaking her head.
We had a good conversation. Greta didn’t know how it was all going to work. I told her it was going to work because all of us were going to make it work. We are all going to work together, and we are going to do things in ways that make sense. I don’t expect a dwarf to run the nursery. Some shock on that one! But whoever runs the nursery will work closely with Albert and his staff, particularly kitchen, support, and security. Vera and Tana are going to be all over the place, involved in many things, particularly in our security. Moira and Greta voiced their concerns, and I listened. I reminded them that we had walked in on Fanise so easily because we combined all our strengths -- of different groups, different races. And in the end, Fanise fell to one of her own. We know we are going to be targets, and we need to be prepared, far better prepared than Fanise was. And yet that preparation, that alertness and readiness, cannot distract from our primary goal -- happy, healthy, laughing children in a vibrant and sustainable community. Yes, it’s a challenge, and that is why we need to work together.
They grudgingly agreed. As we spoke more about building community, I asked them to think about recruiting more from the Andean community Another shock! But one they understood -- I wanted to build a mixed community. I smiled and told them the best way to undermine and open up the Andean society was to show rich, vibrant alternatives.
But now, I need to meet with my wives. Again, I bid them welcome and looked for their insight and suggestions on how to build a community, working together.
Leaving the chamber, a dwarf was there to escort them to their rooms.
And Vera was there as well!
I approached her, but she backed me into the chamber once more. I gestured for her to sit. I tried sitting across from her, but that didn’t work; she moved next to me.
“Do you know why they did what they did?” she asked.
I sighed and shook my head. “I don’t understand -- which means I’m missing something.”
She nodded and smiled. “How do their sisters from afar view them?”
I thought about it; another of those light bulbs glowing dimly... “With suspicion if not outright hostility -- yet by binding themselves to me, they’ve done what words could never do.”
She nodded. “As Tana said, showing the depth of their devotion to you.”
I shook my head. “But where else could they go? They can’t go back, and I don’t think the others would take them in, at least not openly. I’m their only way out.”
“Yes, and they could have taken advantage of your feelings and generosity. They’re already giving you sons, so they’ve given you the only other thing they have -- themselves.”
I nodded. “I accept that. And it stops there. It stops with them.”
I did not like Vera’s smile.
She smiled and shook her head slowly. “Step back and look at this from the outside. A once-fabled but second-tier kingdom springs to life once again. Headed by a human? A human male? And filled with Yeti and dwarves? What would a rational analysis of that be?”
I frowned and nodded. “Yeah -- doesn’t make a lot of sense. A human figurehead maybe, but it once was, and seems to be once more, a Yeti kingdom, settlement, whatever.”
She nodded. “Now instead, look at a kingdom headed by a human male -- a human adept, wearing a dwarf treasure on his wrist, backed by dwarves and a dwarf ambassador, also filled with Yeti, including a group of Yeti sorceresses who are carrying his sons and have voluntarily bound themselves to him? And counting as an advisor one of the most powerful of the Shades?”
I nodded, holding her hands, “And one of the most beautiful and talented of the Succubae?”
She sighed and shook her head. “I will try to be good enough for you, My Lord.”
“You have done so much for me already.” I sighed, that glimmering on my mental horizon. “And you will do so much more -- you will be pivotal. Can you change your shape at will?”
She sat back, startled. “I... I am not sure, Lord. Why?”
I shook my head. “I get glimpses of things -- good and bad -- today I’ve seen another Yeti holding the son we will have. I’ve also seen and smelled blood spilled in these Halls. And I’ve seen you battling intruders.” I held her hands. “I’ve seen you battling intruders, wearing my form.”
She took a breath, nodding. ‘For you, Lord, such things are possible.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Am I going to have this argument with you too?”
She shook her head and held me close. I held her, enjoying her scent and softness.
Sitting back she wiped her eyes, shaking her head. “We crossed that threshold long ago, Lord -- you have known my Name for some time. You have called my Name in passion, and I have done the only thing I could; I too have given myself to you.”
I sighed and hugged her again. Sitting back, I was confused -- nothing new about that. “The Yeti, the elders, couldn’t see that? When they could see, sense, what Elna and Brenda had done?”
She smiled and shook her head. “They don’t know how to see it; it is very rare. Sophira and Tana know.”
I sighed, holding her again. “So now I have even more females to keep happy?”
She laughed and gave me a squeeze. “We will manage -- isn’t that what you say?”
I thought about saying something about thinking I was safer with her, but maybe that wasn’t such a good idea. “I have the feeling they’re waiting for me.”
She sighed and kissed me on the forehead, which didn’t help, making me all the hornier. “They are, Lord. Do your duty.”
Sitting back, I looked at the thing on my right wrist. “Some protector you are!” I told it.
And felt great amusement from my wrist, with animated sparkling! Even Vera laughed!
I shook my head, standing up. “I am completely outnumbered. Duty calls!”
Vera stood. We hugged, and as I headed out of the room, she swatted my bottom!
Down the hallway, turn to the left, a bit farther and to the right to my chambers. Nobody in the anteroom? Approaching the doorway to the bedroom, that’s where they were, all of them.
Entering the room, I could smell Yeti... I headed to Val and Kal, but was intercepted by Bin and Brenda. They led me to the bed and started undressing me. As they did, Kal moved closer and started speaking to me softly, reminding me of what I’d said earlier, that we need to work together, and some times we might not completely agree with what needed to be done, but for the good of the kingdom...
I told them I understood, and I hoped they understood that this was something I would not, and could not ask them to do.
Good! They were glad I understood!
I was standing naked, pressed between soft, sensuous Yeti. I reached for Val, but as Bin and Brenda carried me to the bed, Bin explained softly, “I’m first, then Kal, and then Val.”
Oh, having one of them on top of me is so good! We kissed hungrily until Bin moved up to tease me with her breasts, doing what they had done in training me, getting me so relaxed and so horny at the same time. She was wearing a perfume that made me even hungrier for her.
As Bin slid down my body, I was surprised by Val moving on top of me from the side to hold me down and smother me between her breasts. With Yeti teasing me at both ends, I didn’t last long, particularly when Bin moved from sliding my cock between her luscious breasts to taking me in her mouth.
I thought I’d get a reprieve and enjoy the afterglow and being held...
But Val moved, teasing me with her fur once more and taking me to a breast, a full Yeti breast. She held me, moving my head around, filling me and setting me on fire. I felt soft fur teasing me, the luscious sensation of breasts pushing against my groin. I was hard again, and the soft fur and then lips were so good, taking me over the edge once more.
Val smothered me to her for a while. She moved away to the side, leaving her beautiful sister Kal still between my legs, rocking slowly against my groin, holding my waist, smiling.
I sighed, letting my head fall back on the bed. Brenda and Elna approached. Elna nestled me in softness. Brenda started singing softly, Elna’s rocking following her rhythm. I was so lost, so relaxed. We moved on the bed -- I was on my back on top of Brenda, with Elna leaning over me, Brenda holding me and singing still, Elna sweeping my head with her fur.
Soft touches on the insides of my thighs, touches sending fire through me once more. Brenda was still singing, my head between her breasts, Elna pressing hers into me, keeping me in another world. I was getting hard again, my mouth searching, my arms reaching out to hold someone.
Movement again, sitting up some with Brenda holding me up. I gasped at the pleasure and opened my eyes to see Val between my legs, holding me between her and Brenda, rocking, my cock trapped between her breasts. Brenda held me, her arms wrapped around my chest. I looked into Val’s eyes, seeing her smile as she rocked back and forth. She did something, changed something, and I moaned. That broadened her smile. My hips moved on their own, so good. Val licked her lips and I moaned more in anticipation. Her head tilted down... I felt her lips on me as we rocked. I turned my head to drown myself in soft fur; Brenda held me closer. I moaned more; so close, rocking my hips. Val did something that took me over the edge, coming strongly, being held and squeezed.
I ended up on the bed between Val and Elna, snuggled up against Val with Elna snuggled up behind me. I closed my eyes and faded fast.
One of those incredible moments in the middle of the night, snuggled up to Val’s side with Elna behind me -- waking to the motion of my unborn son inside his mother. Placing a hand on Val, feeling that motion, the awareness of it sinking in. Moving, she pulled me to a nipple. Both of us sighed as I settled in, drifting off to sleep again.
Waking early, turned to Elna, exploring the difference in scent and texture, exploring with my eyes closed. What was I hearing? I pushed up on one elbow, looking around in the dimly lit room. Mattresses on the floor, with three more Yeti on them! All of us together -- that gave me a warm feeling. Elna moved a bit, and pulled me back to where I should be.
Waking to movement on the bed, light in the room getting brighter -- an alarm clock in a different guise. Pulled to the side for a hug and a squeeze; good morning! Elna let me go and Bin was on the bed, her turn to hug and squeeze me! I was more awake (and more randy) with each one, ending with Brenda on top of me to finish my wakeup call.
Getting up, hugs with each, finally getting to the loo and getting in the shower. Where do we get the hot water? Do I want to know? Sure felt good.
When I got out, Vera was there to help me dry. She made a remark about doing my duty... I let it pass. I asked how Yeti normally slept -- alone?
She chuckled and shook her head; they slept at least two together.
I nodded; we should think about expanding things in my bedroom. It was comforting waking in the night and knowing we were all there together.
She smiled and told me it was even more important and comforting to them.
The bedroom had been picked up already. Two dwarves helped me dress. I offered my arm to Vera, who walked with me to the Great Hall.
I joined my wives at the small table for breakfast. Others were eating at the large tables; the day was already well underway. I thought of asking if the shit was hitting the fan yet, but I was sure I’d hear about it later. For now, I could enjoy sitting at the table with my wives.
