Third Place

Clown Without Pity

By

"She was just sixteen, peaches 'n' cream, lips like strawberry wine...."  He was standing outside his tent.  Waiting for the show to go on.

The circus had come to town.  What town?  Rowdy didn't care.  It was the same damn place; same damn crowd.  So, he didn't blink twice, till he spotted the jail-bait cruising the back lot of circus wagons.  Acting like she owned the place.

"She was just sixteen...." Rowdy warbled tunelessly.  "Sixteen if she's a day.  Runaway.  She's got all the signs.  'Go away, little girl.  Go away, little girl.  You're not supposed to be alone with me....'"

His shrewd eyes pierced her when she picked the lock on the Manager's wagon.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Tawny jiggled the doorknob expertly; her sleight-of-hand serving her once again.  Not to mention the set of professional lock-picks she'd lifted from uncle.  "He won't miss'em, since he's doing 18 months for B & E.  I'll keep'em till he gets out.  Hey, what's family for?"

The old safe nestled in the shadows.  "This should be a piece of cake.  The show is starting.  The crowds off the midway are headed to the Big Top.  Nobody will notice...."

"Help you with somethin'?"  Long fingers snaked out, trapping her wrist in its claw.  "Hey! Where'd you come...?  Cripes!"  Tawny gasped: a garish gleam of stage makeup glared in the window's reflection.  "A-A clown?"  She breathed a bit easier.  "Get away from me!  Why aren't you in the show?"

"Catchin' me a little thief, I reckon.  Too bad about that old safe.  You couldn't break that, kid.  It's like Fort Knox.  I know.  I tried."

"Let go! I didn't do nothin'!"

"Not yet, but maybe that's all gonna change...."

Rowdy pushed Tawny from the wagon; hustling her to the Big Top.  His hard eyes shone with wicked amusement.  "Girly, I think I gotta new career for you...."

He propelled her along -- waving warmly to the crowd -- right into the center ring.

Audiences love a clown; a sad face clown can win even the hardest heart.

"You take your medicine, brat, and I won't go to the cops."  Shrugging broadly, he tsked theatrically, sadly shaking his head at her.  Rowdy sat, turning Tawny facedown over his knees in an expert tumbling maneuver.  While she struggled, the audience applauded.  His hand clapped her bottom hard in shared rhythm.  Parents and kids giggled at the naughty girl getting spanked in the center ring.

When the clown pulled down her jeans, spanking her panties with a wooden paddle he'd produced from air (nothin' up my sleeve!), the crowd cheered.  For his finish, Rowdy produced a big red floppy bow -- taping it to Tawny's backside like a tail.

Amidst loud applause and laughter, Rowdy and Tawny bowed to the crowd.  Then, the sad faced clown chased the stumbling naughty girl around the ring -- her jeans flapping at her ankles -- spanking her all the way out of the tent.  Rowdy the clown not looking quite as sad as usual....

And Tawny had found her niche in show biz.

The End

Author's Note:  Because of the fact Tawny is sixteen (obvious jail-bait), and that Rowdy was going to use her for his diverse purposes  --  as long as he threatened her with going to the cops.

To my mind, not a little Mary Sunshine type of story to categorize.

This was very funny and cute at the same time, not a bad career I would have loved to have had a spanking gig at sixteen

The story is a success: interesting settings, likeable characters, satisfying ending.  A pleasure to read.

This is a cute story, and the little brat needs to learn a lesson, and in the bargain she not only learns one but ends up with a career, much better than picking locks, and for once maybe someone who just might end up caring about her.  I don't think that rowdy is out for devious purposes, just wanting to teach her a lesson, and in my opinion one she has never been taught before.  I thought this story was just a blast.  Good work.  :)
