Author's Notes:
Geek Goddess won second place in the 2004 Golden
Clitorides Award for Best Long Story by a New Author. To all my fans that
took the time to vote, thank-you very much.
Geek Goddess was nominated for the November 2003 Silver Clitorides Award
for best story. While it didn't win, Geek Goddess was one of the six finalists.
I want to thank everyone that took time to vote.
What was supposed to be Chapter 16 is now named
Epilogue. It concludes Geek Goddess story. If you're a fan of Kim, Amy and
Kevin, the epilogue leaves plenty of room for a sequel. The next story in
the Goddess series is titled, Hacker Goddess. I've already started writing
this story and hope to post the first chapter in the near future.
I've added new text page links that allow you to view
each chapter as a text file with auto-scrolling, larger fonts or reformat the
chapter it into Palm PDA format.
Because of the many requests to release chapters more
frequently, I've decided to post two chapters each week - one on Mondays and
one on Thursdays.
Another frequent question I receive is: how long
is this story? This story is 16 chapters long, including an epilogue, which
at 4 to 5,000 words per chapter is about the size of the average romance novel.
The story was completely written before the first chapter was posted. Each chapter
is polished and then copyedited just prior posting. For those of you that were
hoping for a longer story, I will point out that there is always a possibility
of a sequel or even a prequel, however this story has a definite beginning and
a definite conclusion. I felt it wasn't fair to my readers to write an open
ended story that may never get finished.
Before you categorize this story as just a romance
novel with a little sex thrown in, be sure to read at least the first five or
six chapters. It will take that long for you to learn about most (though not
all <grin>) of the main characters and for the plot to get rolling. You may
be in for a surprise.
I have begun work on another story in the same setting.
At least one of the minor characters in Geek Goddess will return as the main
character in the next one. It is possible that some of the other characters
may make a walk-on appearance. With a little luck this story should be finished
and ready for posting about the time I've finished posting chapters for Geek
Goddess.
A reader has volunteered to translate my story into
Spanish with the title Diosa Geek. I've posted the first two chapters this week
and I'll post future chapters as I receive them.
As always, I love hearing from my readers. If you have
any ideas or questions about this story or if you find any typos or spelling
errors, please let me know so I can update the web site.
