The Journey
By Net Wolf
I thought I was doing well,
But I got off track again.
My destination, I cannot tell,
And I can't remember when
I last understood the journey.
Life pitches me around,
Like a ship upon the sea.
Someday I'll come to ground
And it will be clear to me
Where I'm going on the journey.
Until then I will fight,
I will struggle to make it through.
For at the end of the darkest night
The sun will rise anew,
And it will light the path of the journey.
I plod along my trail,
Hoping to find the proper way.
I have wondered, to no avail,
If each passing day
Will help or hurt the journey.
But I will continue now,
In the future, as before.
I will move on somehow,
Until I reach that door
That marks the end of the journey.
And then I will look back,
To see from where I came.
And though it seems out of whack,
I will then understand the frame:
It was all about... the journey.
