JOANNA, chapter four
SUNDAY
Yesterday I’d managed to put all this out of my mind. I took the twins shopping and to see a film. I think they were surprised at my offer, or maybe stunned would be a better description.
It was the first time I’d been to the cinema in ages. When I can access everything I want to watch on the net, why bother? But Mum and Dad always insisted that there was nothing like watching a film on a huge screen, with sound and other effects all around you and sharing the experience with a crowd of others. I could see their point, but usually couldn’t be bothered, but the twins loved going to the cinema.
As a distraction my younger brother and sister were quite effective, even if the film wasn’t.
