for this tantalous beauty
I reach across time
smashing space and physiology
a hand reaching out from my heart
a voice from the larynx of my loins
Invisible, I breach the vortex
As your eyes open at the sensation
in mystery, in joy
I appear inside
and touch and taste the warm wetness of your mouth
my tongue an extension, an affirmation of your own
running rhythmic along the smooth backs of your teeth
as you would run a stick along the slats of your backyard fence
My lips, grown discontinuous, emerge, as you sigh,
from behind your own,
turn about and engage them
in a soft-breathed grownup kiss,
slide upward, across
your gentle button nose
the lids and lashes of your shut and wondering eyes
the intricate topologies of your ears
pause to suckle at the lobes
then down the solid column of your neck
and rest to tremble with your pulse
on the boulevard arteries of your throat
The subtle presence of the imprint of my palm
slides from your freckled shoulder
over the dips and rise of collarbones to tarry
on the eloquent desert tablet of your chest
then down, around, and down
passing unimpeded through thin and yielding arms
along the periodic ripples of your spine
until, from across dimensions, I shift and realign,
close my hidden eyes,
rest my cheek, my face, my head
within the spoon cupped smoothness
of the small of your tender back
then shift again
to rest on infinite softnesses
of the globes that rest below
Then the face changes into fingers
the fingers into breath
the breath into lips, sliding forward,
into an etheric probing tongue
And your breath turns into a gasp, a pant, a long inhalation
and a quiet, curious sigh.
I retreat
close the doors between dimensions
and we rest
within the warm confines of standard space
each within the other's memory
as time heals, rebuilds, and reconstruct the pathways
through which tactile breath realities
might once again emerge.
