I wrote these stories in the 1980s when I was younger and hornier. (Alas, middle-age gets us all in the end. Nowadays, I prefer a good short story as a means of erotic expression: then I could manage a whole novella....) They were inspired in equal parts by John Norman's GOR stories and Jack Chalker's great SF stories of transformation by magic and science. I had always enjoyed the ritual parts of the Gorean saga while retaining at the back of my mind the uncomfortable knowledge that I would not last a week in that warrior-dominated culture. (I'm much more the size and shape of one of Chalker's middle-aged heroes. The character I identify most with on Gor is Boots Tarsk-Bit, the actor-manager in PLAYERS OF GOR.) So naturally, when I came to create my own fantasy worlds, I gave dominance to the wizards, men of learning and will, rather than the guys with big muscles.
The stories were published by Olympia Press of the Isle of Wight, an enlightened company dedicated to BDSM literature and in return I got a little money. They have been out of print for many years now but occasionally I get mail from people who remember them when they come across my postings on the net. I have tried to get them back in print but with no success: a lady editor told me that my writing was 'too crude' for their line of books. I think she meant that she didn't like the way my heroines cry out their submission and gasp happily when they come. So I've decided to make them available now on the net. If anyone wants to republish them in paper form I'll be happy to hear from them. I retain copyright on them (see below) and I'm only giving permission for you to download and read them for your own use and pleasure. No further distribution is permitted.
If you want to comment on the SLAVEWORLD series or anything else of mine, drop me a line at: borisl@room3b.demon.co.uk. OK?
They were published in the order SLAVEWORLD, SLAVEWORLD INC and then the various SLAVEWORLD TALES but the TALES actually come in story order between SLAVEWORLD and SLAVEWORLD INC so I suggest you read them that way.
I've also included ISLAND OF SLAVES, a slightly different story of mental transformation and the first chapter.
Re-reading the stories now I see lots and lots of stuff I wouldn't include in a story today, reams and reams of complex genital description which I now find unnecessary and a lot of pain related stuff that I wouldn't bother with today but which I felt I owed Olympia's B&D oriented readership. And to be honest some of the writing is a little crude. Perhaps the lady editor was right after all...
One last point: one which I made in the original introductions of all the books:
THIS IS FANTASY! (Is that big enough letters?) It is intended for those who enjoy erotic dreaming that involves elements of cruelty and domination. I would hate for anything I wrote to encourage fools to try to live out their fantasies with the unintrested or unwilling. So, for those of you who have difficulty telling fantasy from reality, a warning: This is only a story. Things like this sometimes end up badly in real life. There is no such thing as magic and you cannot buy slave-girls at Woolworths. To find such things you have to travel to the realms of imagination, to such places as SLAVEWORLD. But remember to leave them behind when you return to our world, won't you? Unless you can find someone who'd like to play Shemba to your Kerrak. Or vice versa. For those of you still searching best wishes from
BORIS.
