CHAPTER 10

THE FINAL BATTLE?

Kerrak ran along the corridor, slipping on his robe as he went. He had been in the middle of trying a new bondage combination on Shemba when the call came. It had really hurt to have to leave his lovely and loving slavegirl hanging, unfucked and upside down, dangling from a trapeze. And Shemba had been none too happy either! But when Kandolus the Master Magician called, mind-to-mind, there was nothing for it but to abandon whatever you were doing and go to him.

The young warrior found the master mage standing by the Door. The door to Earth which Kandolus had so carefully rebuilt after it had been destroyed in that last battle with Thergo during which the treacherous spellcaster had fled through it to Earth. Despite the best efforts of the Master and all his apprentices they had been unable to recreate the link to the other world. Thergo had somehow learned how to block the route between the worlds. Now Kandolus stood where he had not stood for two years.

"Master? Lord Kandolus, what is it?"

"It called to me, Kerrak! I can sense something through the door. A new power. A new mage coming to the first use of his power near the other terminus of the door. There is great native force there. And somehow... there is a difference to the power." The wizard paused, thinking. "This may be our chance! Assemble the guards and see that they are armed with the special weapons. Quickly man!"

As the young commander of his personal warriors ran off, Kandolus turned his mind back to the door.

"Soon, Thergo. Soon we will see it decided!"

**************

Julie lay on the floor of her cell. It had taken many tries to force her mind into the pattern of the spells outlined in the grimoire. But then, suddenly, she had looked at the magical bonds that held her to the pillar, and she could see the spell, like a sparkling band of light. With her mind she reached out and touched the band at the point where it seemed weakest...

And with a crash, all the bonds holding her up vanished. She fell in a heap to the floor, all her limbs contorted in agony as circulation returned to her hands and feet and ns-and-needles wracked her.

"Come on! Get up you stupid slut! Are you just going to lie there until they come along and brand you!"

Groaning, Julie got to her feet. She limped to the doorway and looked along the corridor to either side. Mentallly she tossed a coin and then headed as quickly and quietly as she could to the left, hoping she could find a way out of this place before she was missed.

****************

"What was that?"

Rose looked up from where she was licking the Master's balls. She had been allowed to serve the Master personally as a reward for bringing in Julie.

"I heard nothing, Master."

"No you wouldn't! Get off me!"

Terrified at the possibility of having offended her Master, Rose rose and knelt beside the couch. Thergo grabbed his robe and stalked out of his private quarters to the part of the College where his apprentices were quartered. Without knocking he strode into Victor's room. He found him lying on his stomach, having his back rubbed by Susie, one of his personal slaves.

"What do you think you're playing at?"

"What? I...I...Master Thergo, what is this?"

"I've told you not to attempt any magic tonight! To save your energies for the ceremony tomorrow!"

"But I haven't. I've just been resting here with the girls. I haven't even lit a cigarette with magic all evening."

"Then who?"

At that moment, Jericho, his other apprentice came into the room, looking disturbed.

"Jericho? Did you sense it too?"

"Yes, Master. A strong wizard. Somewhere near."

"Come with me both of you. We must check the security of the Door."

Grabbing his robe, Victor followed the other two wizards out of the room. He began to wonder what was going on that Thergo should look so worried. What had he not been told?

***************

Julie was lost. She had wandered for ages around this underground maze. She had found no stairs, just elevators that refused to come when she pressed their call buttons. She had found rooms full of bondage and torture equipment. She had seen a corridor where slave-girls waited in low steel 'hutches'. But she had seen no men at all.

Naked and weaponless except for the poorly understood spells in her head, she did not think much of her chances if she did find anyone. She came to the end of the corridor she had been following. It terminated in twin steel doors. On them was a notice: NO ENTRY FOR UNAUTHORISED PERSONNEL. BY ORDER OF THE CHAIRMAN.

She rattled the handle. It was locked. She turned to go back the way she came and froze. She could hear the sound of people marching down the corridor towards her. There was nowhere for her to run....

Thergo came around the corner that lead to the Door and froze in astonishment. Standing in front of the secure chamber was that miserable, meddling reporter!

"You! You miserable slut! What are you doing here? Who dared free you?"

Julie pulled herself up to her full height, determined to go out with dignity.

"I freed myself, asshole! Surprised you, eh? You male chauvinist dickhead!" Well, with defiance if not dignity!

"You lie! But it does not matter. I shall just have to wring the truth out of you!"

Thergo raised his arms and a purple bolt of searing magical energy raced down the corridor towards Julie. At the last moment she raised her arms before her and a glowing shield of blue light formed in the air in front of her. Her body showed the strain she felt when Thergo's spell struck the shield: sweat ran from every pore. But the shield held and the energy of Thergo's attack was turned aside and smashed into the wall of the corridor sending sparks flying. Thergo lowered his arms and amazement spread across his face.

Jericho turned to him in astonishment. "I thought you said that couldn't happen!"

Thergo was so dumbstruck that he didn't even reprimand the apprentice for his familiarity.

"It is impossible! She must be some sort of freak! Aid me!"

To Victor as he watched from the back, it seemed that Thergo was looking less and less impressive by the minute. The two magicians threw fresh bolts down the corridor. Julie staggered as the double attack hit her shield. It was hard for her to concentrate while maintaining the spell which she had recalled from the grimoire imprinted on her memory only just in time. She found herself being driven back against the doors.

"Ah," sneered Thergo, "Now we have her! Watch this!"

As Jericho kept up pressure on her shield, Thergo sent a single concentrated bolt through it. When the magic beam touched her body, Julie began to writhe in agony. The outlines of her flesh rippled and changed and Thergo rejoiced: "Yes soon, soon you will be all mine!"

Feeling her shield crumble and Thergo's magic altering her flesh, Julie cast about in her mind for anything else that might save her. Suddenly she remembered the first spell she had cast, the spell of unlocking! With the last of her strength she threw it at the doors behind her. They clicked open and she fell through them, just barely retaining enough strength to slam them behind her.

"No!" Thergo roared, "No! No NO!!!!"

**************

Inside the room Julie caught her breath and pulled herself up. She found that her balance was off and looked down to see what Thergo's magical attack had done. She had changed. Her body had been remade to suit Thergo's sick fantasies. She felt sure that she had lost height. She was now no more than five feet tall. Moreover she now had the most enormous tits!

Huge and firm, they jutted out and made it difficult to keep her balance. And her hair had grown down her back till it almost reached her arse. She had no doubt that the next step was to remake her mind into that of a sex-slave as her body had already been changed. Despite her desperate situation she felt sexually aroused. Her nipples were hard and she could feel wetness and warmth between her legs.

Her head swam and she forced herself to concentrate. She made sure the door she had come through was secured and then looked around. Where was she? There was no other exit to the room. Except...

At the far end of the room was a large wooden door, but it was sealed behind a huge blue force field similar to the one she had used to defend herself outside. She walked to the edge of the field. ......

Help us..

The voice, faint and almost inaudible, seemed to come from behind the door.

"Help you? How? Who are you?"

...Open the gate...I am the enemy of Thergo...Aid me...

The enemy of Thergo! Could she trust the voice? For a moment Julie stood in indecision. And then a humming sound came from behind her. The steel door into this room was beginning to glow red as Thergo tried to open it. She had no choice. She reached into her memory and marshalled her imperfectly understood powers....

As she cast her will at the blue force field, she heard the door behind her collapse and Thergo shrieking imprecations. A burst of fiery energy struck her in the back, knocking her to the floor. But it was too late. The force shield had gone and the wooden door was opening. It showed a deep black emptiness.

And out of that emptiness came a bolt of lightning that shot over Julie's head and struck Thergo full in the face. The evil magician shrieked and blood began to pour from every orifice of his body. His skin began to char and the room filled with the disgusting smell of burning human flesh. The two apprentices cowered behind their shields and made no move to help their teacher as he slowly crumbled into a pile of ill-smelling, greasy ashes.

Julie looked up in amazement from where she lay as the lightning stopped and figures came through the door. First of all came men who were dressed in armour that reminded her of ancient Roman or Greek styles. But oddly they were carrying Uzi submachine guns as well as swords! And then when their leader was satisfied that there was no danger in the room, (he didn't even give Julie a second look in that regard) he signalled back into the darkness.

Striding through the door came a figure in robes, short, wry but infinitely aristocratic, he was wearing robes and a skullcap and carried a staff tipped with a huge blue, glowing jewel. He came and stood over the remains of the evil magician and smiled. Then he looked at the two cowering apprentices.

"My name is Lord Kandolus. And I suggest you surrender to me now."

The two apprentices did their best to bow in a courtly manner. It isn't easy when you're on your knees.

"And who is the mage who opened the barrier for me. I wish to meet him. For I think he will prove one of the great ones of our Art."

Somehow, despite the burns on her back and her total exhaustion, Julie managed to pull herself to her feet and walk towards the stranger. "What's this chauvinist 'he' crap, Kandolus, old buddy? I did it! I did it all on my ownsome! Hooray for the good guys!" And then she fell forward into his arms.

As darkness enfolded her she could hear him saying: "How very remarkable!"
