It is dawn in Manhatten; the city is getting ready to welcome the new day. The voiceover is that of a morning DJ providing the pratter that accompanies the throb of traffic and the opening of shops along the streets. The alarm clock beside the bed announces it's 7:20; a couple begins to stir. As she (Vanessa Del Rio) sits up and takes off her nightjacket, he (Bobby Astyr) reaches over to take an amorous swipe at her and soon the two of them, both naked, are rolling around on the sheets. Meanwhile, the radio in the next bedroom has awakened their nubile teenage daughter (Georgette Saunders) who, still in her sleepwear of sleeveless undershirt and panties, is now writhing on the bed to the tune of some early morning rock.

In a fashionable high-rise apartment in another part of the city, a businesswoman (Samantha Fox) is putting the finishing touches to her dressing while she listens to the stock quotations. She sips her coffee, scans a few papers, folds her copy of The Wall Street Journal, and heads for the office. At about the same time, in a much more modest apartment, her secretary, a quiet young blonde, played by Merle Michaels, has entered the kitchen still dressed in her plain, servicable pajamas. Her roommate, a frankly sensual brunette with long black hair, played by Arcadia Lake, follows her on her way to getting a glass of juice. She is dressed in decidedly more exotic sleepwear.

In still another part of the city a middle aged man (Richard Bolla) is doing his early morning exercises in front of a mirror while his wife, Georgina Spelvin, smiling indulgently, looks on.

Back at the first scene, Georgette, playing the nyphette with the provocative lassitude of a young girl feeling the first stirrings of sensuality, climbs slowly out of bed. Her flat-chested, leggy body is still only scantily clad, as she pads off to the bathroom, her mother reminding her that after school she is to help out at her socialite Aunt's (Georgina Spelvin) dinner party.

Meanwhile, the two roommates are also discussing the evening to come. Arcadia has a date, a married man, whom she hopes to be able to bring back to the apartment. Can Merle also get a date and stay somewhere else for the night? The shy, intoverted blonde seriously doubts it, as she's not having much luck with men, but half-heartedly, she finally promises to try.

Now the business day has begun and we find Bobby at an early morning appointment with his boss, Samantha Fox, a hard driving, arrogant executive, who enjoys flaunting her authority. As she berates him for his poor sales performance, he slips into a fantasy. He orders her to close the door and lock it; wordlessly, she does as she is told, moving as in a dream. He has her stand up against her desk, her back to him, and then lean down, bracing herself on her elbows. He instructs her to lift her skirt up over her hips, presenting him with her pantied rearend. We find that young lass discussing the upcoming party with a friend as she lay in the bathtub, a telephone cradled against one ear. Comments : BABLYON PINK is perhaps the best of the quality films made by Cecil Howard. The thin story line of a loosely connected seris of vignettes is a hallmark of Howard's, and one he has raised to an art form. An award-winning movie!
