Again we steer for that shore
from which we have emerged
to find our roots once again
and pray for death deferred.

We fear the sight we see anew
aware again our fate
wishing to escape from fear
yet putting off that date.

The man who'd sired us we do see
respecting his gift of life
our mother hurting when he falls
a spouse who's seen much strife.

Life itself a punishment, yet a gift
to those we love yet now
our scars forgotten for this day
in sins we fear our own.

A parent in pain still doth hurt
regardless of how we feel
A future we see for our selves
drives a soul so sure to flee.

Life too short for us to fear
for it lasts not long at all
how seriously to take a thing
that none can keep on call.

Hope we have all for our selves
our lives to live we choose
but choice alike was in their hands
we say, for now, "We're doomed".

consider C-3PO's way of saying this.

Note: It's been said that "You can't go home again"; this work reflects this.
