I meet her
She meets me
our eyes meet
...and look away
who is this here
why is she here
could she like me?
do I like me?
I like her
I hate me
What does she see
I want what I see
We talk
both afraid
our words touch
entwine and entice
I fear
I hurt
for what
memories of laughter
What should I do
why should I do
she laughs, happy
is it at me?
"You need a hug" she says
As our words had embraced
we follow
and hold hands
Alone so long
no longer
another fearful heart
rests easy with mine
I still fear
As does she
together not
together we do
We sit with friends
her dinner an offering
supping satisfaction
life together
I see her
She sees me
our eyes meet
and drown sorrows
