Your voice so like a bell
ringing in to all our hearts
warmed all who ever heard it
silenced now to mortal ears.
Loved you were Beth in this life
though so few would ever know
how the words from you voiced
our hearts warmed in the flow.
Wagner's music was the call
to which thou didst heed
thrilling many your listeners
through operatic deeds.
You loved your art of voice
Debria as your guide
love lost to you so suddenly
so quickly had she died.
You lost so much of your heart
on that warm deep southern morn
we all could grieve with you
a loss we could not scorn.
A Texan you were always
in life and now in death
for in your deep despair
one round you never heard.
Those of us who now survive you
burdened with our load of grief
your life a gift so quickly lost
never now can be retrieved.
We pray that you sing yet
in Heaven now so bright
His gifts you did show
here and in eternal light.
