About Me

A cynical idealist, illucid dreamer and winner of several lifetime underachievement awards, I have been a writer of erotic fiction for going on fifteen years now. It all began by posting a few stories on BBSes back in the day. For those of you not familiar with this archaic term, your modem would dial a number, screech horribly at it for thirty seconds and then (slowly) catapult you into a blocky text-based realm of enchantment and delight. Basically it was all porn. I received enough positive feedback from my early stories to encourage me to keep going, eventually moving up to Alt Sex Stories and then ASSM. I've used a few names over the years, mainly Devospud and disco_volante. So if you remember reading some of these a while back under a different name, they aren't stolen. Scout's honor.

A Note on the Importance of Feedback

Writing is much like sex. You start out doing it to satisfy yourself, but somewhere along the way you realize that it's more fun when someone else enjoys it too. The best thing a writer can hear is that their stories are being read and enjoyed in some way. Even constructive criticism is extremely helpful. So when you read something and end up liking it, please let the writer know... especially if they are one of the many new authors out there.

The Stories

Amateur Video was inspired by real life events. None of the names have been changed, because no one was innocent.

The Visitor is another early creation based on a horror story where an invisible monster drops on someone out of thin air. It has slowly taken on a life and mythology all its own, and has even been compared to the Xanth stories by Piers Anthony. I don't think that's a bad thing.

Creative Writing began when I came across a few too many incest stories where the characters immediately jump into bed with each other without the slightest hesitation. This made me start thinking...what would be a more 'realistic' situation for these sort of events to take place? As with most things in life, I feel it begins on a slippery slope. One thing leads to another and before you know it, bam, you're fucking your sister. Or your brother. Or your dog. Whatever.

Angel was inspired by Laura Palmer of Twin Peaks fame; the perfect All-American teenage girl who had a shocking and twisted secret life. I wanted something with a bit of an edge, something that felt naughty without being overly gratuitous. Hopefully I succeeded.

Fuck Yeah started as an anonymous messageboard rant which illustrated all the naughty things a girl could get away with that a guy couldn't. The idea of being transformed into the object of your own desires was an interesting one, as was the idea of a girl having the overactive libido of a young man.

Email Erotica was a real email exchange I had a few years back after answering a Craigslist ad. This wasn't my only personal ad experience, but that's a story for another time.

Big Sister started out as a typical incest story, but seeing so many of them out there I wanted to throw in a little twist. Feedback has been mixed, with some not liking it and others reporting feelings of confusion and guilt. It's not for me to judge.

Sucker is based on something that happened one afternoon at the local Best Buy. If asked for more detail, I will deny everything.

The Camera Eye feels to me like a more grown-up version of Brother's Girl. It has a similar theme that I tried to extend into the flighty college years when everyone is feeling out who they are and what they want. I've been working on part four for a while now and hope to have it finished sometime before doomsday.

Charlie was a more recent work. It was inspired by a french novel where a woman's hypersexual alter ego is constantly getting her into trouble. I have ideas for additional parts, but it's kind of on the back burner for now.

My Brother's Girl was the first complete story I wrote and has probably gotten the most feedback. It's a bit of a personal story for me and was very much a product of the time in my life when I wrote it. There's something bittersweet about being helplessly in love with someone you can't have, and I've known that feeling well. The story seems complete to me as is, but if there is enough interest I may continue it.
