"Frankenmom" by Losgud (adult mom/son incest) 7, 10, 10
"Frankenmom" by Losgud (losgud@hotmail.com). Guest Review by R'khaan (rkhaan@ix.netcom.com) You know, Losgud is one funny writer. Most of his works I've read have gotten two reactions from me - I laugh a lot; and, well, we won't say what the other is. When I saw the title of this work, I prepared to be subjected to some story about Frankenstein's mom. But "Frankenmom" is really Davey's mother, a nickname he gave her because of her many uses of the word, "frank." Davey is a struggling art student facing his first show when his mother drops in for a visit. The humor in Losgud's writing immediately comes to the front as Davey and Mom are having dinner in a local restaurant. During dinner, Mom has everyone believing that she and Davey are anything other than mother and son. Upon returning home, the two of them settle down for the night - Davey's mom couldn't get a hotel room - while getting comfortable, Davey can't help from noticing his mother as more as just his mother. The humor in his discomfort as his mother does the bra-trick (how do women do that) is precious. They spend the next day walking around the campus, finally arriving at Davey's show, which turns out to be a big disappointment for him. They return to Davey's room where, slowly but surely, things get hot between mother and son. Where the descriptions aren't exactly run-of-the-mill for this genre, it is delightfully fresh and straightforward. Nothing wild and extravagant - just two people taking advantage of a great situation. Losgud's portrayal of Davey as the consummate virgin and Mom's subsequent handling of the situation was nicely done.
