STUCKHAMPTON COLLEGE SCHOOL RULES: DRESS CODE 1997/1998
The newly formed Students Committee, in an initiative proposed by Mrs Anderson, has proposed changes to the dress code. The Board has considered these carefully and is willing to approve some of the recommended changes. The new dress code is as follows:
Everyday Uniform
School blazer - available from our usual stockist or the school's second-hand shop. This is now optional for everyday use, although it is still mandatory for formal occasions or for visits to other schools.
School tie - also available from our usual stockist or the school's second-hand shop.
Blouse - must be white or off-white.
Skirt - must be grey, and shorter than knee length. Any length shorter than this is now permitted, as long as the buttocks are covered when standing straight. The Board was reluctant to agree to this, but the Students Committee was unanimous in petitioning for this amendment. Lycra and other form-fitting skirts, however, will not be permitted.
Socks - must be black or white. Above-the-knee socks are not acceptable.
Tights - an acceptable alternative to socks. May be opaque or sheer.
Stockings may now be worn instead of tights or socks. Stocking tops must not show beneath the hem of the skirt, however.
Black and smart. No high heels.
Games Uniform
Long-sleeved shirt or t-shirt, either in school colours (available from stockist) or plain white. Girls playing in school teams are expected to possess a shirt in the school colours. Must not reveal the midriff!
Skirt - available from our stockist in navy, grey, or black. May be any length between the knee and three inches below the buttocks (or five inches below the buttocks if being worn for events with other schools).
Socks - now optional, but must be grey if worn. Mandatory for events with other schools.
Trainers.
Gym Uniform
T-shirt or tank top, either in school colours or plain white. Must not reveal the midriff!
Skirt - white, pleated, any length between the knee and the buttocks.
Plimsolls or trainers.
It should not be necessary (but apparently it is) to remind students that underwear is not an optional item. Bras and panties must be worn at all times.
Cut-off tops are not acceptable for gymnastics, athletics or games. Please do not butcher your games shirts!
STUCKHAMPTON COLLEGE SCHOOL RULES: DRESS CODE 1998/1999
The Students Committee has proposed additional changes to the dress code. As is its duty, the Board has given these careful consideration and is willing to approve the following revised dress code:
Everyday Uniform
School tie - also available from our usual stockist or the school's second-hand shop. Mandatory for formal occasions, optional otherwise.
Blouse - must be white or off-white. If no tie is worn, only the top button may be left undone.
Skirt - must be grey, and shorter than knee length. Any length shorter than this is now permitted, as long as the buttocks are covered when standing straight.
Socks - must be black or white. May now be of the above-the-knee variety.
Tights or stockings may be worn instead of socks. Stocking tops must not show beneath the hem of the skirt, however. May be opaque or sheer.
Bras and panties - must be worn at all times. Thongs are not permitted with miniskirts that are so short that the buttocks are revealed when bending over.
Please note that jewellery and make-up may not be worn.
Shoes - black and smart. Heels must be no higher than one inch.
NOTE: The school blazer is no longer a part of the uniform.
Games Uniform
Long-sleeved shirt or t-shirt, either in school colours (available from stockist) or plain white. Girls playing in school teams are expected to possess a shirt in the school colours. Cut-off tops and tank tops are now permitted for events that do not involve other schools.

STUCKHAMPTON COLLEGE SCHOOL RULES: DRESS CODE 1999/2000
The Board has approved the following dress code, having agreed to certain modifications recommended by the Students Committee:
Everyday Uniform
School tie - also available from our usual stockist or the school's second-hand shop. Mandatory for formal occasions, optional otherwise.
Blouse - must be white or off-white, with no designs or patterns. If no tie is worn, the top two buttons may be left undone, but for formal occasions only the top button may be left undone.
Skirt - must be grey, with the hemline above the top of the knee. Any length shorter than this is now permitted, as long as the crotch is covered when standing straight. This now permits skirts that reveal part of the buttocks, but such skirts may not be worn on formal occasions or outside the school grounds.
Socks - must be black or white. May now be of the above-the-knee variety.
Tights or stockings may be worn instead of socks. Stocking tops must not show beneath the hem of the skirt. Must be sheer (the Students Committee surprisingly, but correctly, observed that opaque stockings and tights look untidy with miniskirts).
Bras and panties - must be worn at all times. Panties must be white and conventionally-cut if likely to be revealed owing to the shortness of the skirt.
Jewellery - a single pair of ear studs (not earrings) may be worn.
No make-up is permitted.
Shoes - black and smart. Heels no higher than one inch.
Games Uniform
Tops - t-shirt or tank top, either in school colours or plain white. Girls playing in school teams are expected to possess a shirt in the school colours. Cut-off tops and tank tops are permitted for events that do not involve other schools, but these must cover the bra!
Skirt - available from our stockist in navy, grey, or black. Must be shorter than three inches above the knee and longer than one inch below the buttocks.
Trainers or other appropriate footwear.
Bra and white panties (no thongs).
Gym Uniform
T-shirt or tank top, either in school colours or plain white. Cut-off tops are allowed for events that do not involve other schools, but these must cover the bra!
Skirt - white, pleated, any length between the knee and the crotch. Buttock-revealing hemlines may not be worn for events with other schools, however. Alternatively, gym knickers (now stocked by our clothing supplier) may be worn over the top of regular panties in place of a skirt.
Plimsolls or trainers.
Bra and white panties (no thongs).
STUCKHAMPTON COLLEGE SCHOOL RULES: DRESS CODE 2000/2001
The Board, after consultation with the Students Committee, has issued the following updated dress code:
Everyday Uniform
School tie - also available from our usual stockist or the school's second-hand shop. For formal occasions only.
Blouse - must be white or off-white, with no designs or patterns. At least one button above the level of the front clasp of the bra must be done up.
Skirt - must be grey, and shorter than three inches above the knee. Any length shorter than this is now permitted, as long as the crotch is covered when standing straight. Skirts that reveal part of the buttocks are permitted, but such skirts may not be worn outside the school grounds. Form-fitting skirts are now permitted, but these must not be allowed to climb above crotch height and may not be worn outside the school or for formal occasions.
Socks, tights or stockings - socks must be black or white. Stockings that show beneath the hem of the skirt must not be worn on formal occasions. Tights and stockings must be sheer.
Bras - may be sheer as long as the blouse is not of the 'see-through' variety. Must be worn at all times.
Panties - must be worn at all times. Panties must be white, non-sheer and conventionally-cut if likely to be revealed owing to the shortness of the skirt.
Jewellery - a single pair of ear studs (not earrings) may be worn, plus one ring, one necklace, and one bracelet.
Understated make-up is now permitted.
Shoes - must be black and smart. Heels may be no higher than one-and-a-half inches.
Games Uniform
Tops - tank top, either in school colours or plain white, or plain white t-shirt (our stockist no longer supplies the school colours t-shirts). Cut-off tops and tank tops are now permitted for events with other schools, but these must cover the bra with at least two inches to spare.
Skirt - available from our stockist in navy, grey, or black. Alternatively any skirt of a solid colour may be worn, as long as it is shorter than three inches above the knee and covers the buttocks. Form-fitting skirts are not allowed, as these are not conducive to freedom of movement.
Trainers or other appropriate footwear.
Bra and white panties (no thongs).
Gym Uniform
School colours tank top (available from our stockist), or plain white t-shirts and tank tops. Cut-off tops are allowed, but these must cover the bra.
Skirt - white, pleated, any length between the knee and the crotch. Buttock-revealing hemlines may not be worn for events with other schools, however.
Gym knickers - may be worn in place of a skirt, with or without regular panties beneath.
Plimsolls or trainers.
Bra and white panties (no thongs).
Swimming Costume
Two-piece costumes are now permitted, as long as they are not used for events with other schools. Strapless tops and thong 'bottoms' are not allowed.
Casual Clothing
Starting this year, students are permitted to change into casual clothing at weekends, after fifth lesson on a Saturday. The guidelines for casual clothing are as follows:
Trousers or shorts - must be clean, and not frayed or ripped.
Skirts - must cover the crotch.
Tops - must cover the breasts.
