Lakeside
This story was inspired by quite a few things. First, a visit to a lake with a friend of mine. And, second, the end of a longtime relationship. Both those elements played into the creation of the story, melting into something beautiful and hopeful. This is another 'Struct story, if you couldn't tell.
Games -Adia and Games - Rafe
These two stories mirror each other. They feature Aida and Rafe, but in two different situations as you can see. I wanted to create the appearance of telling one, very specific type of story when, in fact, the reader was involved in something completely different.

I hope one day I can find someone who'd be as imaginative a lover as either Adia or Rafe. Or as patient as one.

Daydreams
This is the second appearance of Donovan and Cyan, two characters that are regulars in my other anthropomorphic short stories. It was written around the same time as Attachment (Control-H), but before Beating God. I edited it a bit to fit the tale into the continuity. Donovan wrote this story in the hopes of exorcising his attraction to Cyan like an invading spirit. Frankly, I wrote this story for much the same reason and, I admit, it did help clear my head of foolish notions. Also got me a half decent story, too...
Guard Duty
An erotic story set in Lisanne's universe, I wrote this in response to a few erotic SF stories I read. They were thin on character development and heavy on crude language, using the setting as little more than wallpaper. Here, I tried to write something that was funny, sexy, romantic and did not use the 'c' word to describe Elaura's neitherlips.
Let's Try Something
My stories are too damn long. So, a while back, I wrote this in the hope it would cure me of my literary elephantitis. No such luck. But, this is the first story where I named the 'Struct's. I've been trying stuff with them for a good three years now...
Love and War
This story started as an e-mail collaboration with a friend of mine, Mariah. No, that's not her real name. The lady shall remain discrete until she wishes to be known. This story was my first real attempt at a fantasy tale. I'm an SF boy, raised on a steady diet of the stuff. Fantasy's still an unknown territory to me and that made writing this tale with Mariah a challenge.
Warm Strangers
This is by far the longest piece of erotica I've ever written and it has the most complex genesis. Inspired by Lisa Jennings' picture 'mikiling1.jpg,' I found myself writing a tale around the very powerful and passionate image she created. Much to my surprise, I found out that the lion in the image, Ling Khan, was in fact a character on a MU we frequented I met Ling's player, Rob, and he gave the story his blessing. With Lisa giving me page after page of lovingly detailed notes about the Khromatai, I wove together this story.

I started working on the story in the fall of '98, but real production didn't kick in until the winter. It was a cold winter on a personal level. This story helped keep me from going crazy with depression as I struggled through a tough spot in my life. It was the first time in a while I'd had an active critique of one of my stories, too. I rather miss the collaborative air it created. In the end, though, it all boils down to one person at a keyboard, dreaming away...
